Digital image correlation

Type of equipment
Laboratory in support R&D project

ARAMIS sensors measure statically or dynamically loaded specimens and parts by using a contact-free and material-independent method based on the principle of digital image correlation (DIC). It allows the measurement of deformations and displacements on all visible surfaces of a specimen or part.

Examples of applications:

– Visualization and measurement of properties gradients from between different zones in a part (on welded specimens for example)

– Comparison between a CAD and the real geometry of a part

– Shear measurements on a part or specimen
