Penetrant testing inspection line

The penetrant testing inspection line uses high sensitivity water washable and post emulsifiable oil for maximum process control such as safety-critical aerospace testing.  

It enables the detection of surface discontinuities on parts made of ferromagnetic or non-ferromagnetic materials such as aluminum, titanium, carbon steel, stainless steels, ceramics, etc.

This facility is used for NDT training, NRCan certification exams, and to support research at CMQ.

Le banc magnétique est utilisé pour détecter des discontinuités de surfaces ou sous la surface dans des matériaux ferromagnétiques (Fe, Ni, Co, Acier) en appliquant un champ magnétique ainsi qu’un médium magnétisable sur les régions offrant un champ magnétique de fuite.

The magnetic bench is used to detect surface or subsurface discontinuities in ferromagnetic materials (Fe, Ni, Co, Steel) by applying a magnetic field and a magnetizable medium to the regions offering a leakage magnetic field.

This device is used as part of the training given at the CMQ as well as to support research.
