Goals
  • To meet the training requirements of the Canadian General Standard Board (CGSB).
  • To prepare the candidate for theoretical and practical exams of the certification agency for level 2.
  • To carry out, according to the applicable inspection standards, procedures, checks, reports, evaluation of magnetic equipment and inspection of pieces.
Content
  • Basics of magnetism and demagnetization.
  • Principles and steps.
  • Choice of methods:
    – dry, wet;
    – visible and fluorescent.
  • Advantages and disadvantages of methods.
  • Practical work:
    – checks of equipment and concentration of wet particles;
    – writing of work instructions;
    – inspection of weldments, forgings and castings;
    – interpretation and evaluation of indications;
    – reports.
  • Exams.
Public cible
NDT technicians who want to obtain a certification from the Canadian General Standards Board (CGSB) and Quality Control personnel wishing to familiarize themselves with this inspection method.

  • Preferably have a high school diploma.
